OFFICE BUILDING IN CHALANDRI
Located along the heavily trafficked Papanikoli Avenue, this office building engages with an urban context marked by dissonance — a mix of architectural styles of questionable quality, ad-hoc interventions, and poorly maintained public infrastructure. Together, these elements form a fragmented urban backdrop that feels both visually oversaturated and spatially problematic.
In response, the building introduces a moment of clarity. It acts as a counterpoint to the surrounding visual noise — a composition of elemental geometries, where rectangular volumes and a single cylindrical form converge into a deliberate and restrained whole.
The façade facing the avenue is intentionally opaque. Without visible openings, it becomes a solid threshold — a visual pause for the passerby and a protective acoustic barrier for those within. The building stands out not through spectacle, but simply by offering a visual break along the street.
In contrast, the remaining façades open generously. Large apertures frame views of the surrounding vegetation, allow daylight to flood the interior, and ensure natural ventilation. The resulting office spaces are contemporary, luminous, and calm — designed not just to perform, but to offer a pleasant and humane working environment.
